The Telco Condo has a video security system, covering the locked front and rear doors.
To view the video feed on your smartphone or tablet, please do the following:
1. On your phone or tablet, download and install the Transcendent Viewer smartphone app by selecting the relevant link below:
For iPhone:https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vitek-transcendent-viewer/id1015521170
For Android: VITEK Transcendent Series Viewer - Apps on Google Play
2. Open the app. On the top right side of the screen, you will see two rectangles. Click on them.
3. You are now on the server screen, which will connect you to the cameras in the front and back hallways. Select the + sign at the top right.
4. A drop-down menu will appear. Select "Scan code to add" and scan the QR code below with your camera.
5. This will take you to the screen "Modify Device."
The first line will already be filled in with "NC680065715L." This is our system's address.
The second line is for the system's nickname. It may be autofilled as Device-01, but feel free to change it to a name like "telcocam" or "629 Constitution" that will appear on your app's home screen.
The third line is for the user name we will all use -- "Telco629".
The fourth line is for the password. Enter "0517". (The password will change when the entry password is changed.)
Now select "Save" and you will return to the Server List screen.
6. Select the "Play" button and you will be taken to the main screen, where you will see a live video of the front and back doors. Turn your phone or tablet on its side for a larger view.
The center icon at the bottom of the screen gives you different viewing options.
(The other icons at the bottom of the main screen are for administrative use.)
You will now be able to see anyone who calls you from the entry system, wherever you are as long as you are connected to the internet.
This will give you an extra layer of security since you will be able to view people before you let them in, dialing "9" on your phone as before. And if you ever suspect a package was stolen from the foyer, you can email Leslee.Behar@gmail.com. If you can give her the approximate day and time you believe it happened, she can look through tapes of activity at the door to try to identify the culprit.
If you have any problems installing the app, please contact Dick Martin in apartment 305. Email: DickMartin@me.com; phone: 908-400-6880.
If you rent your apartment, please let your tenants know of this capability and give them these instructions. The password will change when the entry passcode is changed.
